Physician burnout has been a hot topic for the last couple years, but what has been done?

I'll speak to my experience. We had weekly meetings to help reinvigorate us docs and find 'healthy' coping mechanisms that would allow me/us to push a little harder for a little longer. That won't work for me. The Physician experience used to be one of prestige, respect and admiration. We strive to address the problem of physician burnout by giving physicians access to the best of the best. Let's maximize how we experience time away from the hospital and treat ourselves with those luxury items we enjoy and have worked damn hard for. We will bring the physician back to the forefront of the community and will bring more value to the social lives of physicians. And hey a happy physician is a better physician.
